For yacht builders
Every boat that leaves the yard needs a delivery. Run them all from one account.
A new boat to a buyer abroad, a demo boat to the show, a hull to a dealer: each one needs a captain, a handover and paperwork. Boat Gigs gives a yard one place to post those deliveries, choose the captain and follow every boat under way. Free, no commission.
The deliveries a yard makes
To the owner's berth
A new boat sold to a buyer abroad goes from the yard or the commissioning base to their home port, often after sea trials and with the buyer's own dates.
Shows and dealers
Demo and stock boats to the show pontoon or a dealer, on a date that does not move, and back again afterwards.
Fleets and warranty work
Charter fleet deliveries at the start of the season, and boats coming back to the yard for warranty or refit work.
How it works, step by step
- 1
Once
Set up the yard
A free account, then the company. Invite the colleagues who handle after-sales or logistics; they see the same deliveries.
- 2
Per boat
Post the delivery
Route, boat, dates and what the captain needs to know. It goes out under the company's name; captains who sail the route apply with their fee.
- 3
You
Choose the captain
Profiles with licences, logged miles and the boats they know, some certificates verified by hand. Chat inside Boat Gigs; contact details are exchanged when you accept.
- 4
Under way
Follow the boat
Short updates from the captain, a departure and an arrival handover with engine hours, fuel and photos, and a PDF statement of each for your file.
What it does for the yard
Every boat in one place
No more spreadsheet of who is sailing what where. The overview shows each delivery, its captain and where the boat is.
Your choice of captain
You pick from profiles with licences and logged miles, and you can put your own checklist and warranty terms in the delivery.
Paperwork that writes itself
Handover statements, the documents per hull and a monthly statement of invoices and costs, ready for after-sales and the books.
The builder account
Post in the company's name
Every delivery under the yard, not under one colleague's account. Captains don't see which company posted until one is accepted.
One overview of every hull
Status, the captain chosen and the latest update under way, for all the company's deliveries. Filter by open, agreed, under way or completed.
Colleagues on the same account
Invite colleagues by email. Anyone at the company can pick a captain, chat and change the status of a company delivery.
Handovers, documents, monthly statement
Handover PDFs, the CE certificate, insurance and registration per delivery, and a monthly statement of captains' invoices and costs as PDF or CSV.
Free. No commission, no subscription. You become the company's admin and invite colleagues from there. Yacht broker rather than a builder? See for yacht brokers.
Questions yards ask
What does it cost the yard?
Nothing. No subscription and no commission. The captain's fee is agreed between you and the captain, and the captain invoices you directly; Boat Gigs does not sit in between.
Who are the captains?
Independent delivery skippers with a profile on Boat Gigs: experience, licences and certificates, some checked by hand. You read the profiles, talk to them in the chat and decide who gets the boat.
Do captains see that it is our yard?
Not until you accept one. A delivery is posted anonymously, like every delivery on Boat Gigs. On acceptance you and the captain receive each other's contact details.
Can several colleagues work on the same delivery?
Yes. Everyone you invite to the company sees every company delivery and can choose a captain, chat, change the status and record a handover. Which colleague posted it does not matter.
What happens at handover?
At departure and at arrival one side records the handover: place, engine hours, fuel, notes and photos. The other side confirms. Once both have confirmed, the delivery moves on by itself, and a PDF statement is generated for your records.
