- How much does it cost to post a yacht delivery?
- Posting on Boat Gigs is free. We don't sit between you and the captain, so there are no platform fees on either side. The price you and the captain agree on is the price. What the delivery itself costs: yacht delivery cost by route
- How fast do captains see my delivery?
- The moment you publish, your delivery is live in the captain feed. Captains who fit your route reach out with a short pitch and their qualifications, and you decide who to accept.
- Who can post a yacht delivery job?
- Anyone with a free Boat Gigs account can post a delivery. Yacht owners, brokerages, charter companies, and management firms all use the platform to find qualified captains and crew.
- Do I need an account to request an offer?
- Yes, every delivery is tied to an account, because that is the only way captains' replies can reach you. The quick form on this page only asks for your email: we create the account for you and send a one-time link to set a password. Already have an account with that email? Then the delivery is simply added to it.
- What happens after I request an offer?
- Your delivery goes live and you get an email with the public link to share. Every captain on Boat Gigs is notified. Tim, delivery captain and founder, replies with an indicative all-in price. Other captains apply with a message and their fee. You read their profiles, chat with them inside Boat Gigs, and accept the one you trust. On acceptance both of you receive each other's contact details, and the delivery stops taking applications.
- Which emails will I get as an owner?
- A confirmation when your delivery is live, one email for every captain who replies, one email when a captain sends you a new chat message (only for the first unread message, until you open the thread), and a confirmation with the captain's contact details when you accept someone. Plus the usual account emails such as a password reset. Owners get no marketing mail. Application and message emails can be switched off in your profile.
- Which emails do captains and crew get?
- An alert for every new delivery posted, so you can apply before it is gone. A message when an owner accepts or declines your application, with the owner's contact details on acceptance. A notification for new chat messages. An invitation when a team lead invites you to their team. Now and then a service note or news from Boat Gigs; news has an unsubscribe link, account emails do not. Alerts, message emails, reminders and news can each be switched off in your profile.
- Can captains and crew apply to a delivery as a team?
- Yes. Under Teams you create a team, give it a name and invite the people you sail with, by username or by email. Someone without an account gets a link to sign up for free and joins straight away; nobody is added until they accept. On a delivery you then choose Apply as your team. The owner sees the team name and every member's profile, and everyone in the team reads and writes in the conversation with the owner. The person who sends the application is the owner's contact and can withdraw it, and the owner's decision is emailed to the whole team.
- What does it mean when a team applies to my delivery?
- A team is a group of captains and crew who want to do your delivery together. You see the team's name and each member's profile with their licences and verified certificates, and the fee they quote is for the whole team. You chat with all of them in one conversation. Accepting the application accepts the team, and the captain who sent it is your contact person.
- How do I check whether a captain is qualified?
- Every captain has a public profile with their licences, the boats they've sailed, miles logged, and history on the platform. You read it, message them, get on a call, and decide who delivers your boat. Bad actors can be blocked permanently, they won't see your deliveries again.
- What types of work can I find on Boat Gigs?
- Yacht deliveries are the core, but you'll also find captain positions, crew positions, charter work, and maintenance jobs. Filter by work type to narrow down.
- Is the poster's identity public?
- No. To protect posters from unsolicited contact, only the first three letters of their name are public until they accept a captain. Full contact details are shared after acceptance.
