Privacy Policy

• Account data: email address, password (stored encrypted), username and display name.
• Profile data: optional bio, role (captain, crew, owner), avatar.
• Content you post: deliveries you create (title, description, vessel, route, dates, location, contact details) and messages you send when subscribing to a delivery.
• Usage data: basic technical logs (device type, app version, IP address) used to keep the service running and secure.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising networks.

Your username, display name, role, bio and avatar are public. When you post a delivery, your identity stays anonymized to the public until you accept a subscriber. Contact details you enter in a delivery are shared with the people you choose to accept.

We use Supabase (authentication, database and storage) to operate the service. Supabase processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments.

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics drops a first-party cookie and processes pseudonymous identifiers, page paths, referrer URLs, and coarse device information. IP addresses are truncated by Google before they reach us. We do not link analytics data to your account, and Google Analytics is configured without advertising features. If you do not want your visit to be measured, enable a tracker blocker in your browser or use the “Do Not Track” setting; the script honours both.

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your deliveries at any time from your dashboard, and you can request full account deletion by contacting us.

Depending on your location (e.g. under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

Boat Gigs is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
