Former Royal Navy Navigator and experienced offshore yacht sailor (both racing and cruising). I have recently started completing deliveries too, after winding up my former wine business - references available for the delivery service. Currently working my way through the civilian certification pathway, having successfully completed the Fleet Navigating Officer course whilst serving in the Royal Navy several years ago. (The FNO course is a highly specialised navigation course leading to ownership of all navigation and ship-handling duties onboard as well as management and leadership of the bridge watch-keeping team). Unfortunately there is no direct equivalence in the MCA pyramid, but it is most closely aligned with Chief Mate (Unlimited). I am fully third-party insured and value clear two-way communication to ensure that any job is done both safely and in a manner/timeframe that suits the owner.
